This company faced the challenge of managing and leveraging massive amounts of data across thousands of products. They needed a unified source of truth to enable data-driven decision making, support business users with flexible analytics, and take advantage of special Amazon events. We partnered with them to build a robust data platform that ingests, enriches, and analyzes Amazon Marketplace data in real time, empowering the business to optimize inventory, pricing, and performance seamlessly as the company continues to acquire and scale new brands.

Challenges

  • Create a unified source of truth for all products in the catalog.
  • Establish a data-driven competitive edge by gathering massive amounts of product data and enabling business users to generate any needed metrics.
  • Capitalize on special Amazon Marketplace events (Prime Day, Cyber Monday, Black Friday, and Lightning Deals) to maximize performance and profitability.

Solution

  • The platform integrates data from Amazon Marketplace Web Services (MWS) APIs to gather comprehensive information on products, inventory, orders, shipments, returns, and other key operational metrics across all Amazon stores. To enhance this data, it also incorporates third-party sources such as Keepa and SentryKit, adding insights like price history, product badges, best seller status, and category rankings.
  • This enriched data powers daily operations and supports critical sales events like Prime Day and Black Friday, helping detect anomalies, monitor pricing, and anticipate performance issues to ensure optimal product performance.
  • Whenever a new Amazon seller is acquired, the platform pulls in two years of historical data and begins ingesting real-time updates. This enables immediate visibility into performance trends.
  • The processed data is delivered to the business team, where it's used to forecast stock, manage shipping, optimize pricing strategies, and guide performance analysis.
